Katie, LMT — Founder & Licensed Massage Therapist in Prescott Valley, AZ

Katie, LMT — Founder & Licensed Massage Therapist in Prescott Valley, AZ

With 10 years of professional experience, Katie is the founder and guiding heart of Spirit & Body Massage in Prescott Valley, Arizona.

Known for her slow, steady and methodical touch, Katie specializes in therapeutic massage that helps relieve pain and tension without relying on aggressive pressure.

Her advanced education in oncology massage changed not only the clients she is able to serve, but the way she approaches massage altogether. Today, her work is guided by a simple philosophy:

Using broad, full-hand contact, controlled pressure and slow, intentional movement, Katie gives the body time to respond rather than trying to force change.

The result is massage that feels wonderfully calming while remaining purposeful, therapeutic and deeply attentive to the person on the table.

About Katie

Katie founded Spirit & Body Massage in 2016 with a clear vision: to create a massage studio where genuine care, professionalism and warmth coexist — a place where people feel truly seen, heard and supported.

More than a decade later, that philosophy still guides her.

Katie believes being an experienced therapist doesn’t mean doing things the same way forever. It means continuing to learn, questioning what you thought you knew and allowing new education to make you better.

Her advanced training in oncology massage did exactly that.

It gave Katie an entirely new appreciation for what skilled, carefully controlled touch can accomplish — and changed the way she works with nearly every body on her table.

Whether she is caring for a longtime client, working with someone experiencing chronic discomfort, supporting a person affected by cancer, mentoring another therapist or representing Spirit & Body in the community, Katie brings the same qualities to her work:

Less Pressure. More Precision.

For years, Katie was known for her deep, controlled massage work. Like many clients, she understood the common belief that stubborn tension sometimes required increasingly deep pressure.

Oncology massage education challenged that idea.

Katie began incorporating broader contact with her hands and palms, slower movement, less concentrated pressure from fingers and elbows, and more time allowing the body to respond.

Her longtime clients noticed.

“That wasn’t as painful, and I feel great. What did you do differently?”

Today, Katie primarily works within Levels 1–4 of the WPS pressure scale, adjusting every massage to the person in front of her.

She still has the knowledge and experience to perform techniques such as myofascial work, connective tissue massage and trigger-point therapy. What has changed is her belief that therapeutic work must feel intense in order to be effective.

Instead of asking, “How deep can I go?” Katie asks a much more important question:

“What does this body need from me today?”

“But Light Massage Doesn’t Work for Me.”

Katie understands the hesitation.

Maybe you’ve had a light massage before that felt pleasant while it was happening, but didn’t seem to address the reason you booked the appointment.

So you learned to ask for more pressure.

Katie’s approach is different.

This isn’t simply deep tissue massage performed more lightly. Her work uses slow, broad, intentional contact and carefully controlled pressure, paying close attention to how your body responds throughout the session.

There is less emphasis on overpowering stubborn tissue and more emphasis on working with your body.

You don’t have to be convinced before you arrive.

Give Katie one session and let your body decide.

Healing Through Massage

Katie’s massage style is slow, intentional and highly individualized — blending therapeutic skill with the deeply relaxing experience Spirit & Body Massage is known for.

Her focus isn’t on delivering a predetermined amount of pressure.

It’s on understanding why you came in and how you want to feel when you leave.

The massage is built around you.

Oncology Massage: Care Built Around You

Cancer can change your relationship with your body — and sometimes with touch itself.

Katie provides specialized oncology massage for people currently undergoing cancer treatment, recovering after treatment, living in remission, navigating treatment-related changes, or who have a history of lymph-node removal.

As an Oncology Massage Specialist and S4OM Preferred Practitioner through the Society for Oncology Massage, Katie has advanced education in adapting massage around the unique considerations that can accompany cancer and its treatment.

That education matters.

Oncology massage isn’t simply an ordinary massage performed with less pressure. Katie considers your health history, treatment experience, lymph-node involvement, medications, positioning needs, energy level and comfort when determining how your massage should be approached.

For clients with lymph-node removal who fall within Spirit & Body Massage’s oncology protocols, Katie uses WPS Level 1 pressure and appropriately adapted techniques.

But gentle should never be confused with insignificant.

Katie’s goal is to provide a place where people affected by cancer can experience caring, restorative human touch while knowing their massage therapist has pursued specialized education specifically for their needs.

A Legacy of Care in the Prescott Valley Community

Since opening Spirit & Body Massage in 2016, Katie has believed that wellness should extend beyond the treatment room.

She and the Spirit & Body team have volunteered throughout the community, providing complimentary massage and supporting local events including:

  • The Heights Church – Spa & Beauty Day for Vital Moms
  • Get Real Men’s Expo
  • Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Spring Fest
  • Prescott Valley Days

Spirit & Body Massage also regularly supports local organizations, fundraisers and community groups through donated services and gift certificates.

That commitment to Prescott Valley has been recognized through numerous community awards, local media features and — most importantly to Katie — relationships with clients who have trusted Spirit & Body with their care year after year.

For Katie, community involvement isn’t a marketing strategy.

Why Clients Choose Katie

Clients describe Katie as steady, compassionate, knowledgeable and powerfully calming.

Some come to her because they’re hurting.

Some because previous massage has been uncomfortable.

Some are navigating cancer or recovery and aren’t sure whether massage is appropriate for them anymore.

Others simply want to relax in the hands of someone they trust.

Katie doesn’t believe you should have to endure your massage in order to benefit from it.

She wants you to leave the treatment room thinking:

“I didn’t know massage could feel that good and still accomplish so much.”

Her goal is simple: help you leave feeling more comfortable, more at ease and more at home in your body than when you arrived.

Real Clients. Real 5-Star Experiences

I have been seeing Katie now for over a year. I always feel like I am dreaming when we are done. Thankful to have found you. ~ Alyssa K

Katie goes above and beyond in every massage. She has that magic touch that very few therapists have. She knows when to go light and when a muscle needs a deeper touch. My body is pretty beat up from multiple back and neck fusions. I walk in feeling like a broken toy and an hour later my body feels brand new. Don”t wait another minute nor look any further. Book a session with her and reap the benefits I have had over the last 6 years of seeing her. ~ David A

Had a relaxing and much needed massage with Katie. She was very friendly and accommodating to my needs. I had some health issues and she without hesitation made the adjustments necessary to make me feel comfortable without compromising the benefits of the massage. ~ Michellee B

Client Tip:

Founder’s Note

“When I opened Spirit & Body Massage in 2016, my dream was simple — create a place where care comes first and where every person walking through our doors feels welcomed, supported and valued.

More than ten years later, I’m still learning.

My oncology massage education changed the way I look at touch. It reminded me that effective massage isn’t about how much pressure I can apply. It’s about understanding the person on my table, listening to their body and having the knowledge to know when less can accomplish more.

That’s the therapist I want to continue becoming.

Whether someone comes to me because they’re hurting, because they’re exhausted, because cancer has changed what massage looks like for them, or because they simply need an hour to feel cared for, I want them to know they’re in capable hands.

That’s what Spirit & Body has always been about.

Helping our community live better, one person at a time.”
